   I wanted to love these socks. They have the right amount of grip. But the fabric is cheap and they wear out quickly. In the picture you will see the holes. I do yoga and dance in them. A pair has never lasted more than a month. I suppose they are fine if you don’t mind being the one in class with holes in your socks. I’ve moved on to some better made, longer lasting, non-slip merino wool socks.

   What a disappointing Gaiam product! Poor quality and ill fitting caused my feet to slide around inside them making Yoga poses impossible. I threw them out in the trash, as they weren’t even good enough to walk around my apartment in.

   These socks work. I had to buy yoga mitts and socks for my home practice, for the dumbest reason ever: my cat loves yoga time and hops on my mat and claws the living daylights out of it in his enthusiasm. A pock-marked mat does not make me feel very serene, nor does sweeping up the carnage of the rubbery bits he’s torn off. I decided to wear a mat he couldn’t destroy, and even if my cat doesn’t really approve this new approach is working. It helps my awareness a little, even, because there is not some safe padded thing there to protect my every move and when I go to my weekly class I can REALLY sense a difference in my alignment. Outside of all that sort-of pious stuff, they look really cute on my feet. Even my husband noticed that. Not important for your practice, but injecting a little fun never hurts.
